NDT – Non-Destructive Testing

NDTs are done to verify the integrity or wear level of certain materials and equipment. In the industrial sector NDTs are requested by Notified Bodies (such as INAIL o A.R.P.A.) for the following reasons:

• Integrity check for pressure tanks
• Integrity check for steam or SH water boilers every 10 years
• Pressure vessels check after reparation
• Pressure vessels check during the construction

In the railway field, NDTs are requested by Notified Bodies (such as USTIF or ANSF) or by companies working in the same field (RFI, Trenord, etc.) for the following reasons:

• Axles check
• Leaf springs check
• Wheels check
• Compressed air tanks check
• Weldings examination

• Dry penetrants testing
• Visual testing

Our personnel include 1st and 2nd level operators according to secondo ISO 9712 and with a railway maintenance extension.
